Funeral Consumers Alliance
of Maine
Membership
Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine is a membership organization. Through their lifetime enrollment fees and their subsequent voluntary contributions our members finance our activities. All our work is done by our volunteer members, none of whom are paid for their efforts.
New Members
Each new member receives a New Member Packet consisting of a membership card,
the pamphlet "Before I Go, You Should Know", instructions for body,
organ and tissue donation, and a comprehensive Information Booklet. The
Booklet contains our by-laws, the Maine Advance Directive forms (living will
and health care power of attorney), a roster of our officers and directors, a
personal data form, information about our Cooperating Funeral Directors, and a
useful document commenting in detail on Maine death care laws, planning the final
arrangements, dealing with death care providers, etc.
Continuing Benefits of Membership
The Do-Good Syndrome
Our members are generally pleased with the efforts of our
National organization to educate the public, to respond to consumer complaints,
to influence Congress and Federal regulatory agencies, and to promote
consumer interests with the death care industry. FCA of Maine takes
similar action at the State level, and our members realize that they make possible
whatever we do.
Please complete
the Membership Application Form and return
it to us with your one-time, lifetime membership fee of $25 per person. There will be
no subsequent dues.
